Library Reaches Out with "firstname.lastname@example.org"
In July Roddenbery Memorial Library will launch its grant project to create enhanced opportunities for the improvement of literacy among English language learners in Grady County. Our evening Vacation Reading Program on July 13 featuring Cuban American Tersi Bendiburg telling Latin American Folk Tales will be the first grant-funded activity. The $5,000 grant is funded by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation in partnership with the American Library Association. There are two Dollar General stores in Cairo and one in Whigham.
The library will partner with businesses, organizations, and agencies county-wide to create awareness about library services to help learners of English become successful in their life here in Grady County. Anyone with suggestions for how to more effectively reach people in our community who need to receive our promotions is invited to call or visit the library, 229-377-3632. Watch for announcements of more services and activities during the remainder of 2010.
