Roddenbery Memorial Library

Library Store

Gifts, Stationery, Books, Collectibles, and Other Nifty Things

Through The Library Store, located in the front entrance foyer, Roddenbery Memorial Library can provide services to people throughout the Grady County area that are often needed. The store also provides a means for the library to generate a small amount of its own income, which local governments appreciate.

The Library Store brings together a range of products that people occasionally want but are hard to find in one place anywhere else around town. Here are a few examples.

The foremost item in any library store is likely to be a book. The Library Store has copies of books on sale by local authors, and there is also a book ordering service on demand at a discount. The Library Store can order new books, have them delivered in a matter of days, and sell them for an extremely deep discount, with 10% going to the library. It is a win-win situation, especially with hard-to-find books.

BookSox is the trade name of a type of covering for textbooks that is not only very nice in appearance but is easy to use. BookSox simple slide over the hard cover of a textbook or an expensive bestseller, and from then on the book is protected from wear and scratches, and it looks great! There are a number of patterns and colors of BookSox in both regular size for $3.00 and jumbo size for $4.00 in The Library Store.

The Library Store has t-shirts, sweatshirts, and golf shirts with library and Friends logos. The red golf shirts are good for wearing at CHS football games when the weather is warm. A very special type of t-shirt offered in the store is called Bookwear. Three exciting graphic designs are featured on white t-shirts, with such slogans as, "Books Reign," "Books Open Doors," and "Expand Your Universe -- Read." Each shirt is packed in a little box that looks like a paperback book. Child sizes are $10, and adult sizes are $12.

Anyone who would like to have one of the Christmas ornaments from the Cairo series that feature the library building on a white ornament can still get one for $5.00 at the library store.

Roddenbery Memorial Library and the Friends of the Library have taken the original 16mm version of the 1940's tour of Cairo called "My Home Town," and re-issued it on video. The 2001 video re-issue is available in VHS or DVD formats for $20 per copy. The program comes with a scene list, so views can follow the progress of the program from location to location.

There are also gifts, trinkets, stocking-stuffers, and other uncommon things in the store. There are practical items like pencils, paper, disks, White-Out, and other things people often need while using the library. Keep checking the web site for new items or special offers.
