Friends of the Roddenbery Memorial Library

The Friends of the Library has been active since the 1980's and has raised many thousands of dollars to enhance library service to the county. Friends are library supporters and library users. They are community members of all ages, from all walks of life, who count the public library as a necessity and not a luxury. From year to year they remain part of this group of Friends. It is the major reason why Grady County enjoys library service beyond what is found in many communities of the same size, and it is second to none in depth of commitment to maintaining the quality of life in our community.

Lauralu Porter is the current president of the Friends. The newsletter is called Tidings, and it comes out occasionally, whenever there is activity that should be of interest to the members. A new occasional paper, Library Advocate, is a forum for supporters of maintaining the high quality of library and information services in Grady County. Here are a few recent issues.
